Pride In Art

At SPARC we believe that one of our most important values is Visibility and a great way to do this is through queer art. Our first art project was done in 2025 in coordination with Newark Homeless Outreach. We wanted to make a bold statement that we are all valued and we will be seen. “We will not be erased. We will leave in imprint.” was the message chosen and is still displayed today.

Wanting to continue to spread queer art a new project, Light Up With Pride, was created and launched in 2026. Light Up With Pride projects queer art and messages of community, love and support at businesses across Licking County. In our first year we installed 7 projectors displaying 7 pieces of art.

This project not only sent a strong message to our community but also invested in our business partners. This art installation brought us together and ignited a new sense of excitement so we’ve decided to make this a permanent project. We look forward to continuing this project each year by adding new partners and new artwork.
